At TwinCounsel, we know that for a law firm, data isn't just an asset—it's a liability. You need to know exactly where your client's secrets go, who owns the work product, and how our AI interacts with your files.

This policy outlines our "Bill of Rights" regarding your content.

1. Defining the Data

To ensure clarity, we separate data into two buckets:

A. User Content (Owned by You)

This is the raw material you bring to the platform.

• Examples: Your client emails, attachments (PDFs/Word docs) in Drive/OneDrive, calendar events, and the specific facts of your cases.
• Rights: You retain 100% ownership of this data. We do not claim any IP rights over your client's secrets.

B. The Matter Graph (Licensed to You)

This is the structured intelligence TwinCounsel creates.

• Examples: The extracted timeline of events, the relational map of parties (Who is "Opposing Counsel"?), and the linked citations we generate.
• Rights: TwinCounsel owns the structure and schema of this graph. We grant you a perpetual, non-exclusive license to use the data within this graph for your legal practice.

2. Our "No-Train" Guarantee

The #1 fear of lawyers is that their confidential strategy will teach an AI how to beat them in the next case.

• We DO NOT use your User Content to train foundational AI models (like GPT-4, Claude, or Llama) for the benefit of other customers.
• We DO NOT allow your client's data to "leak" into the general knowledge base of our system.
• We DO use your content to train a local preference layer. If you correct our AI's tone, it learns for you, and only you.

3. Integration & Access

We only touch what you tell us to.

• Read Access: We access emails, calendar events, and drive files only when they are relevant to an Active Matter.
• Write Access: We never send an email or file a document without your explicit approval ("Human-in-the-Loop").

4. Data Portability

You are not locked in.

• Export: At the close of any matter, you may export the generated "Audit Trail" (timelines, facts, citations).
• Deletion: When you delete a matter or cancel your subscription, we initiate a secure deletion process of your User Content from our active servers within 30 days.
